7 Questions to Bring to General Women’s Conference

7 questions to take to general women's conference

7 Questions to Bring to General Women’s Conference

I remember the exact moment I knew this Mormon Mompreneur community had to be started.  It was a year ago and President Nelson spoke directly to the sisters.  I was washing dishes, my kids were loudly playing and I felt an unmistakable prompting that I needed to stop, quiet my children and listen.  He said,

“We need women who know how to make important things happen by their faith and who are courageous defenders of morality and families in a sin-sick world.”  (Read the talk here)

He pleaded with us, and his words stirred me to action.  More than ever before, women of the church are educated and devoted in their service.  The internet has brought increased ways to influence the world all while staying at home with our children.  Not everyone will be guided to do business, but we know that if this is what the Lord wants us to do, He will send us guidance.

We created Mormon Mompreneur as a home for women of faith to be nurtured in motherhood and business. Both Sarah and I have started more than one business, and both of us have felt the Lord’s hand in creating and organizing our businesses.

One of the ways we receive this guidance is through his chosen servants. Every six months, we get to listen to General Conference and General Women’s Conference. When we come prepared in prayer and with questions, the Holy Ghost can speak to our hearts the answers to our questions and can bring peace to our lives.

(Want to watch Women’s Conference? It goes live on Saturday Sept. 24 here.)

We’ve compiled a list of 7 Questions to Bring to General Women’s Conference.

I love this quote from Elder Johnson in 2005 talking about the power of listening to General Conference with a heart turned toward action.

“In order for the messages of general conference to change our lives, we need to be willing to follow the counsel we hear. The Lord explained in a revelation to the Prophet Joseph Smith ‘that when ye are assembled together ye shall instruct and edify each other, that ye may know … how to act upon the points of my law and commandment.’ But knowing ‘how to act’ isn’t enough. The Lord in the next verse said, ‘Ye shall bind yourselves to act in all holiness before me.’ This willingness to take action on what we have learned opens the doors for marvelous blessings.” Paul V. Johnson

I love this because I want to act on the commandments and I also want to know how.  May heaven bless you as you receive inspiration and have courage to act.

Hearing President Nelson’s talk changed me and inspired me to act.  What General Conference talk has done that for you?  Leave us a note in the comments.
