5 Steps to Inspired Business Goals

5 Steps to Inspired Business Goals Mormon Mompreneur Goal Setting Podcast

Podcast Notes:

Being a mompreneur can be hard. There are so many business decisions to be made and I usually have to make them on a brain that is thinking about carpool, dinner, potty training, soccer practice and Sunday’s primary lesson. You get it, right?! So, how can we make good decisions with our business?

God wants to help us and inspire us to make our businesses succeed.

5 steps to an inspired business Mormon Mompreneur Boyd K. Packer quote on the spirit copy

Pres. Packer said, “The Spirit of Christ can enlighten the inventor, the scientist, the painter, the sculptor, the composer, the performer, the architect, the author to produce great, even inspired things for the blessing and good of all mankind.

This Spirit can prompt the farmer in his field and the fisherman on his boat. It can inspire the teacher in the classroom, the missionary in presenting his discussion. It can inspire the student who listens. And of enormous importance, it can inspire husband and wife, and father and mother.”

And may I add: The Mompreneur who seeks

I have found that if we come to the Lord prepared with solutions and well thought-out plans, He can inspire us and give us peace in our decisions.

5 Steps to Inspired Business Goals Mormon MompreneurElder Juan A. Uceda in October 2016 General Conference asked, “Do you prepare yourself to make important decisions by praying to your Heavenly Father? Do you prepare yourself for a moment of prayer?”.

There are five questions I consider when making any business decision.

  • How much time? Consider how much time you are able to give in your current life situation with kids and church responsibilities.
  • How much money?  What will I have to invest upfront and what is my plan to pay back the investment and do I have the money to invest?
  • Why?  Be specific about why you want to make money.  Is it for piano lessons for your daughter?  Is it to pay off debts?
  • What will I be sacrificing? Know what you will be giving up to make your goals a reality.
  • Is this what the Lord wants?  After considering all of the above questions, go to the Lord and ask if it is the Lord’s will or not.  Then you have to be brave enough to trust in His guidance.

Elder Uceda said, “At the very moment we say, ‘Father in Heaven,’ He hears our prayers and is sensitive to us and our needs. And so His eyes and His ears are now connected to you. He reads our minds, and He feels our hearts. You cannot hide anything from Him. Now, the wonderful thing is that He will see you with eyes of love and mercy—love and mercy that we cannot fully understand. But love and mercy are with Him the very moment you say, “Father in Heaven.”

Make sure to have a listen to the podcast to learn how I use these steps in my businesses.
