10 Questions Every Women Should Ask During General Conference
10 Questions Every Women Should Ask During General Conference

In just a few days, we will listen to General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Get your Primary coloring packets and cinnamon rolls ready for 10 hours of personal spiritual instruction.  It is pretty amazing, isn’t it?  We, along with millions of people, all over the world listening, can receive direct guidance for our lives.

Elder Bednar said,  “The Savior declared, ‘Whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same’ (D&C 1:38). May we hear and heed the eternal truths taught by the Lord’s authorized representatives. As we do so, I promise our faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will be fortified, and we will receive spiritual guidance and protection for our specific circumstances and needs.”

He gives us direction to HEAR and HEED.  That implies action on our part.  How do we prepare to hear?  Well, one of the ways I come prepared to hear is by thinking of questions that I need answered, then praying about them.  I’ve come up with a list of 10 questions to get you thinking.  Use mine or if you are coming up with some of your own, consider the following three types of questions:

1. Positive Questions.

Ask what things you are doing well and what talents and gifts you already have.  I don’t know about you, but constantly striving to get better can be a bit discouraging without some positive feedback that I’m on the right track.  Also, once we realize the gifts that we have, we can move on to the second type of questions.

2.  Power Questions.

The scriptures teach that we are each given talents to bless the lives of others.  So, once you ask the positive questions above, next ask how can you use your unique gifts to bless others.  Have a specific person in mind who might need you?  Ask specifically how you can use your gifts as a power for good in their lives.

3.  Progression Questions.

These are the questions that are probably the hardest to hear and usually the ones we most need to heed.  Progression questions are the ones where we take a square look at our life and decide which things we need to cut out, which things we need to make a bigger part of our lives and which things we need to repent of.  Progression questions are hard to hear the answer to, but they are necessary to…well… progress.  Don’t be scared.  Peace comes from trusting, stepping forward in faith and relying on the love of the Savior.

Can’t wait for General Conference! let me know in the comments which question you are going to ask.
